The Challenge: Moving Mobile Homes on Soft Ground

At a busy UK holiday park, the movement and resiting of caravans and mobile homes across grassy areas is a regular task. However, wet and boggy conditions can make this operation particularly risky.

When the ground is soft, vehicles can easily become stuck, leading to costly delays, torn-up turf and even potential safety hazards. In extreme cases, poor ground conditions during manoeuvres have contributed to serious incidents.

The park operators needed a solution that could allow safe caravan siting with minimal ground disruption, whatever the weather.

The GroundGuards Solution: MultiTrack Mats

GroundGuards recommended MultiTrack, a lightweight yet high-strength ground protection mat that can be laid by hand to form a temporary roadway across grassed areas.

Each mat weighs just 39kg, allowing quick and easy installation without the need for machinery. Once in place, the mats form a robust and stable surface that can safely support vehicles weighing up to 120 tonnes.

The reusable trackway enabled smooth and secure access for siting caravans, even in challenging wet conditions. With interlocking joins, the mats created a continuous and safe path across the park.

Results and Outcome: A Safer, Cleaner Operation

The MultiTrack solution delivered a reliable and efficient method for moving caravans, with no vehicle bog-downs or rutting of the grass.

Ground protection was maintained throughout, with no damage left behind. Importantly, the job was completed safely, on time and with zero disruption to park operations or guests.

The mats can be reused across the site for future resiting work, making them a cost-effective and practical long-term investment.
